Claire's Goldmine & exciting new frankens!!!!!

But first frankens!!!!!!!I found a few bottles of NYC East village on sale a few months ago. I knew I would  be whipping up some frankens with them eventually. I finally got around to it this evening. Before I knew it it was 10:45, my whole evening spent franken-ing! All my frankens turned out as I envisioned they would. I am so excited to wear them.

 NYC East Village5 coats w/ TC = This polish is pretty layered over other polish's and it did dry fast..

NYC East Village is a ridiculously sheer teal shimmer. HERE is a previous post I did on this polish The only polish's I used for these frankens below were NYC West Village, a Black creme, a White creme and a shimmery sparkly Icing polish. These were very simple to make. taking your time, adding drop by drop for deep pigmented colours and taking notes is they way to go when frankening.

I will be doing individual posts on these starting tomorrow. Sorry about just bottle pic's and small swatches.... I had to post this asap, because using this for frankens worked out excellent - plus the labels peeled off more easily than any polish label I have come across!

   The next time you read about someone writing something unkind/hurtful on the interwebz, think about this scenario on  XIAXUE's site  , imagine all the effort this dude went to - my goodness what the fudge.....- but good for her for investigating and sharing her experience.

Here is some old new stuff, or some new old stuff ~ I found these at a dollar store in my town. I already have several packages of the skulls in the center, but I have never seen the other two before.... $2 bucks each! (I am happy to find these types of deals but i have a teenie -tiny gripe about ti too! )

Before I forget about it, Beauties Factory has black full coverage artificial nails on their website, just for those that were asking............... not sure of the quality, but its nice to find them


and here is my new lighting situation...... these are both just plain lamps from the  thrift store with bright natural light light-bulbs from the grocery store. I was literally on my way to any department store to find/purchase a lamp with  a solid base and a bendy arm - I found that one for 4 bucks at the thrift store, and the other clip on lamp at another thrift store for 2 bucks = SCORE!!!!!

GOLD Space Nails

1 coat of Wet n Wild Black Creme, then Claire's Goldmine sponged on in some areas, I tried to leave some bare spots, then 1 coat of a black/gold shimmer/glitter jelly franken I made using WnW B|lack Creme and the Claire's Goldmine and clear nail polish. I added a few random holographic hex glitter pieces, then topped it off with 2 coats of TC ( even though only 1 coat of TC is shown in the photos this mani is really shiny and so it is reflecting everything around it, I wish I matte-i-fied this for photos)

I was a little over-zealous with the sponging, so I cannot call these galaxy nails, more like outer space nails. Though my thumb does look like clusters of galaxies, rather and outer-space.


It has been difficult but hope to stick with the gold theme for the remainder of the week. I think this is the colour family I have the least polish's of. Whenever I have needed a gold polish, I always turn to Billie Gold or Claire's 14 Karats. Those are my 2 favirote gold polish's.  Up next for gold week is a full mani with Claire's Goldmine, the holographic gold polish I used in the mani.

above, after it has been shaken up - those gold particles stay somewhat suspended in this black jelly base...... it's really pretty, I will add this to my must-swatch basket and add photos asap

No-Name Icing gold shimmery polish, 2 coats layered over Naturistic's Chrome in Solid Gold with 1 coat of TC.

This polish, along with the others that came with it in the mini 5 set are very sheer. They are build able but need 4 to 5 coats to hide VNL. I'll have to hunt around for some photos where I compared this to something else.

...and some old school Nail Fetish nails I found at my favirote dollar store in town.... a long, long time ago I had these in forrest green, they were a gift from my friend 'C' who bought them a gazillion years ago, and I also recieved some from another friend 'A'  as a gift as well. I was surprised to see these in the store, so of course I had to but them.

I am not sure how old these are but I love pre-painted artificial nails

Pro 10 Updo

2 coats layered over 2 coats of Naturistic's chrome in Solid Gold w/ 1 coat of TC

Just before I added Top Coat to this mani I scraped off a huge swathe across my middle nail, so I filled it in with polish  and applied a gold/silver shamrock to disguise. Oh nail stickers; you have saved the day so many times for me. 

this is the only Pro 10 polish I own, any others I have seen in the store are plain and boring, but this one looked pretty in the bottle. The base is somewhat milky, but barely deposits that colour on the nail. I love the small gold glitter, it is sparkly and bright. I need more gold glitter in my life.

This is one of those polish's that has a coarse texture to it, and needs alot of top coat to smooth it out for a glossy mirror finish. Here I have only used 1 coat of Top Coat, and probably wont add another as I plan on redoing my nails. This week I hope to focus on wearing ALL my Gold polish's that are untried/un-worn, so un-officially it is 'Gold-week' for me.

Here is a bottle of polish that has been sitting around for a year or so, I thought that it looked weird/cool how it had separated like this. This is an older bottle of LA Colors - I loved the brush on these.

My Base for this mani was Naturistic's chrome in Solid Gold, it is not what i would call gold, but a nice silver with subtle hints of golden tone lol - I should have taken a better pic but you can see the circular flaws from the ELF Glitter  I wore previously. I need a serious buffing.

and here is what I did to my nail, grrrrrr - I think I did a good job of disguising that!

A Simple Gold Sponge Mani

The polish's I used for this look were Icing Manic Monday, Billie Gold, Icing no-name gold shimmer and ELF Golden Goddess. I sponged the Billie Gold metallic polish over my nails, then sponged on the no-name Icing polish over that and -extending past- the gold, then applied 1 coat of ELF Golden Goddess. I need another coat or two of Top Coat for ELF Golden Goddess..... it looks really lumpy plus the base on it is matte = but it dries fast for me so I am not complaining.

The gold hearts did not hang on overnight..... many of them fell off. So today I removed what was still hanging on and sponged over my nails.

I sponged 3/4 of my nails with Billie Gold, and thick gold metallic polish.

* Sponged 3/4 of nail with Billie Gold
* Sponged on a sheer, shimmery gold polish, leaving a small area of the green base polish
* added 1 coat of ELF Golden Goddess
* Added Top Coat





and my Pot Of Gold St Patrick's Day from yesterday....... those little beads surprised me, I thought they would all fall off, but a surprising amount stayed on, even though I did alot of crafty things today.

My nail is at different angels, so it looks like a totally different more rounded shape. I didn't think of doing a before/after till I loaded these photos. I think I would like these beads in clear, and pastel colours. Nail polish dissolves the finish on non NAIL ART micro-beads.

I set these into wet Top Coat but the colour still bled.
