GOLD Space Nails

1 coat of Wet n Wild Black Creme, then Claire's Goldmine sponged on in some areas, I tried to leave some bare spots, then 1 coat of a black/gold shimmer/glitter jelly franken I made using WnW B|lack Creme and the Claire's Goldmine and clear nail polish. I added a few random holographic hex glitter pieces, then topped it off with 2 coats of TC ( even though only 1 coat of TC is shown in the photos this mani is really shiny and so it is reflecting everything around it, I wish I matte-i-fied this for photos)

I was a little over-zealous with the sponging, so I cannot call these galaxy nails, more like outer space nails. Though my thumb does look like clusters of galaxies, rather and outer-space.

It has been difficult but hope to stick with the gold theme for the remainder of the week. I think this is the colour family I have the least polish's of. Whenever I have needed a gold polish, I always turn to Billie Gold or Claire's 14 Karats. Those are my 2 favirote gold polish's.  Up next for gold week is a full mani with Claire's Goldmine, the holographic gold polish I used in the mani.

the large hex glitter looks more holographic in this photo below

below - unshaken franken polish I made with clear, black and a few drops of Claire's Goldmine,  this looks good layered over other polish's

above, after it has been shaken up - those gold particles stay somewhat suspended in this black jelly base...... it's really pretty, I will add this to my must-swatch basket and add photos asap

♥ a nice photo to show off the space effect ♥

Pro 10 Updo

2 coats layered over 2 coats of Naturistic's chrome in Solid Gold w/ 1 coat of TC

Just before I added Top Coat to this mani I scraped off a huge swathe across my middle nail, so I filled it in with polish  and applied a gold/silver shamrock to disguise. Oh nail stickers; you have saved the day so many times for me.

this is the only Pro 10 polish I own, any others I have seen in the store are plain and boring, but this one looked pretty in the bottle. The base is somewhat milky, but barely deposits that colour on the nail. I love the small gold glitter, it is sparkly and bright. I need more gold glitter in my life.

This is one of those polish's that has a coarse texture to it, and needs alot of top coat to smooth it out for a glossy mirror finish. Here I have only used 1 coat of Top Coat, and probably wont add another as I plan on redoing my nails. This week I hope to focus on wearing ALL my Gold polish's that are untried/un-worn, so un-officially it is 'Gold-week' for me.

Here is a bottle of polish that has been sitting around for a year or so, I thought that it looked weird/cool how it had separated like this. This is an older bottle of LA Colors - I loved the brush on these.

My Base for this mani was Naturistic's chrome in Solid Gold, it is not what i would call gold, but a nice silver with subtle hints of golden tone lol - I should have taken a better pic but you can see the circular flaws from the ELF Glitter  I wore previously. I need a serious buffing.

and here is what I did to my nail, grrrrrr - I think I did a good job of disguising that!

A Simple Gold Sponge Mani

The polish's I used for this look were Icing Manic Monday, Billie Gold, Icing no-name gold shimmer and ELF Golden Goddess. I sponged the Billie Gold metallic polish over my nails, then sponged on the no-name Icing polish over that and -extending past- the gold, then applied 1 coat of ELF Golden Goddess. I need another coat or two of Top Coat for ELF Golden Goddess..... it looks really lumpy plus the base on it is matte = but it dries fast for me so I am not complaining.

Icing Manic Monday - a dark, dark green

Billie Gold - thick metallic gold, very opaque & dries fast

un-named Icing polish - gold shimmer

The gold hearts did not hang on overnight..... many of them fell off. So today I removed what was still hanging on and sponged over my nails.

Polish's I used for this Mani
L-R Icing Manic Monday, Billie Gold, Icing no-name gold shimmer, ELF Golden Goddess

I sponged 3/4 of my nails with Billie Gold, and thick gold metallic polish.

* Sponged 3/4 of nail with Billie Gold
* Sponged on a sheer, shimmery gold polish, leaving a small area of the green base polish
* added 1 coat of ELF Golden Goddess
* Added Top Coat

and my Pot Of Gold St Patrick's Day from yesterday....... those little beads surprised me, I thought they would all fall off, but a surprising amount stayed on, even though I did alot of crafty things today.

Before                                                                                                 After

My nail is at different angels, so it looks like a totally different more rounded shape. I didn't think of doing a before/after till I loaded these photos. I think I would like these beads in clear, and pastel colours. Nail polish dissolves the finish on non NAIL ART micro-beads.

I set these into wet Top Coat but the colour still bled.

HAPPY ST.PATRICK'S DAY!

Claire's Evergreen, Icing Manic Monday sponged at the base and 2 coats of Sinful Call You Later w/1 coat of Nailene Top Coat. I think that is this best green glitter out there..... It has 2 different sizes of green glitter, along with gold micro-glitter = it is a good combination and very pretty.

A sponge glitter gradient never fails me! I tried a few different things before I decided to go with a fail safe glitter gradient mani. My base was multiple coats of Claire's Evergreen. I brushed and sponged on Icing Manic Monday (dark green) at the base of my nail - like a ruffian manicure, then applied Sinful Call You Later over the area where the two polish's met.

Thankfully I was able to get some outdoor sunshine photos today ~ but seem to be experiencing technical difficulties with blogger, hopefully everything works out♥

 Indoor Florescent

glitter particles are tough to get off my cuticles - even with an acetone clean up

this was my Irish Meadow mani from the other day.... I removed the design from my ring nail and then tried water marbling - FAIL!!!!! I have done some pretty marbling in the past, but this did not work, so then I tried a patchwork mani ( a la chloe nails) and that didn't work either. so I went  with the safe glitter gradient - looks good every time

.... and a 'syrup' mani fail. I know it is supposed to be a sheer polish that is used for a syrup/graduated manicure, but this is waaaaaaay too sheer. it is a pretty colour, but needs alot of coats to opacity. I will layer this over an opaque base polish.

.... and a much nicer picture of Claire's Evergreen - its very sheer

St. Patty's Day Manis

Sally Hansen - Green With Envy - 3 coats
Confetti - My Favorite Martian - sponged, then brushed onto the tips of my nails
Sinful Colors - Call You Later - 2 coat

Here is a super easy look, a base of Sally Hansen Green With Envy, a sponging of Confetti My Favorite Martian, and 2 coats of Sinful Colors Call You Later followed by a coat of TC. The 2 sinful Colors Glitter polish's I own are substantially glittery, but are not coarsely textured = so they do not need a million coats of top coat to smoothe them out. I wanted to use Sinful Colors All About You which is a gold/copper glitter but could not find it in my stash.

I have done pretty well for the first few days of march with the green themed mani's..... hopefully I don't get sick of it before St. Patty's Day.....

The artificial nails I am wearing are older dis-continued Fing'rs nails.... Trophy wife length.

...... and another green St. Patty's theme mani

For this mani, I started with 3 thin coats of a pale pink polish from Wn'W, the added black on the diagonal with Nailene French Tip pen in black. When it was dry I added Sally Hansen Lime Lights, a sheer iridescent green polish and applied some loose glitter by tracing the line with clear polish and sprinkling the loose green glitter on my nail.  I sealed it all up with  Top Coat.

I kinda like lime lights over this light pink polish, I'll definitely try this layering combination again. It looks sorta what I imaging an Alien 's skin would be like..... clammy and iridescent green.

....and with green loose glitter, its looks better IRL.....

Wet n Wild Blue wants to marry a Millionaire

2 coats of Wet n' Wild Blue Wants to be a  Millionaire, layered over Sally Hansen Turquoise Chrome. On it's own BWTMaM is a very sheer baby blue polish with holographic micro-glitter. It is girly and dainty and perfect for layering. I have seen many photos of this at 4 to 5 coats and it is beautiful, but I took the easy route and layered it over a discontinued SH Chrome polish. I added 2 coats of Top Coat as I found it had alot of texture to it.

It has a normal looking brush but it is not the same as other WnW polish's I have. The brush is very stiff and I am tempted to pour this into a 'normal' bottle of polish. Even though I have heard bad things about all the Fast Dry brushes it isn't going to stop me from acquiring all of these Fast Dry polish's; even the sheer ones, because they are all really pretty♥

I did not realize that my lead photo in my last post was my mummified finger, sorry, that wasn't supposed to be like that.

Also; how hard did they laugh when the name 'Hannah Pink-tanna' was actually labeled on the bottles and ready to ship to stores? Hannah Pink-tanna is the sheer magenta version of this polish. I think there should be a resource page on MUA for polish company's to reference when thinking up names for polish's.

the Brush = It looks normal but it is on the almost un-manageable side.....
